Analysing Fear and Tension

(0)
This is a fully resourced unit that focuses on how fear and tension is created in film - all lesson slides and resources are included. Students develop their analytical skills while also acquiring an understanding of directorial techniques such as shot types and sound. The unit uses a range of clips and trailers from the horror genre and provided lots of opportunities for students to improve their skills of analysis. There is a formative assessment which is also a creative task combined with analysis. The summative assessment in which students take on the role of the director of a short film and have to create their own director’s booklet. A slide with weekly spellings is also provided. This unit and all the multimedia is suitable for students in year 8 of key stage 3. Students will need access to a device (laptop or tablet) for the summative assessment.
